Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission:

  1. You must have graduated from an NLN/AC– or CCNE–accredited bachelor’s degree program in nursing.
  2. Your college-level studies must include undergraduate study in human anatomy and physiology (equivalent to BIOL 215 and 216 at MSU) within two years of your projected start date
  3. Three semester hours of undergraduate physics (equivalent to PHYS 211 at MSU)
  4. Three semester hours of undergraduate biochemistry (equivalent to BIOL 432 at MSU)
  5. Three semester hours of undergraduate microbiology
  6. Three semester hours of undergraduate organic chemistry
  7. Three semester hours of undergraduate inorganic chemistry
  8. Three semester hours of undergraduate statistics
  9. Two semester hours of basic research.

10. You must hold a current unencumbered West Virginia RN license
11. You must have at least one year of clinical experience as an RN that includes the opportunity to develop independent decision making and the interpretation and use of data from invasive monitoring devices.
12. You must also have completed at least 12 clock hours of volunteer experience over the past year
13. You must hold current health care provider certification in BCLS, ACLS, and PALS.

In addition to your application and transcripts, you will be required to provide three letters of recommendation, GRE scores that are no more than six years old, and a statement addressing the questions “Why do I want to be a CRNA?” and “Why am I a good candidate for this program?”

Qualifying applicants are invited for an admissions interview, with candidates and alternates selected from those interviewed.

Program admission is selective and competitive, and meeting program requirements does not guarantee admission.
